5 DAY PONGO DEL MAINIQUE RAFTING EXPEDITION

Considered the gateway between the Andes and the Amazon, the Pongo del Mainique is one of the most spectacular and remote river canyons in Peru. This incredible 5-day rafting expedition will take you to explore the sacred Wilka - Mayu River, descending exciting class II - III rapids, surrounded by intact rainforest, abundant wildlife and stunning landscapes.

During the trip you will enjoy jungle walks, bird watching, swimming areas, inflatable kayaks, paddle boards and unforgettable nights camping on remote river beaches under star-filled skies.

This expedition is designed for travelers seeking real adventure, connection with nature and authentic experiences in the Peruvian Amazon.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Private transfer from Quillabamba to Ivochote. Equipment, safety talk and rafting to base camp on the Turquesa Yoyato River.

Day 2: Walk in the jungle and exploration of the Turquesa River in inflatable kayaks or boats depending on the date of the tour.

Day 3: Exploration of the Pongo del Mainique and hike to the Yosheto viewpoint, to obtain the best view of this wonderful 3 km canyon.

Day 4: Full-day hike in the Matsigenka jungle with flora and fauna observation.

Day 5: Return by motor boat to Ivochote and private transfer to Quillabamba.
